What an awesome day of completing work projects! Isn't the kitchen beautiful?! Two kitchens and 6 bathrooms in the little girls' and little boys' houses were completed along with MANY other projects.

Sponsors had a sweet time with the children they sponsor. Tanner and Kristen both sponsor Paty. She loved her small gifts.

The guards are awesome! Alante, Alante!

This rabbit is well loved, so much so he tried to escape twice while we were here.

Four squares is pretty much a daily game.

Genesis, what a sweet three year old.

A sponsor family sent Angel David presents. He loved the "iguana"!

The view of home a few hundred yards away.

Tonight we had an amazing time at our good bye dinner. We all received photos of ourselves with a child from the home. Then they prayed for us. It is amazing how some of these children can pray! We could feel the power of their prayers!

We gave each child a goodie bag of candy and treats.and then had our final photo time. These kids will surely be missed. Thank you Lord for the MANY blessings this week.

Tomorrow is our day in Antigua and then Saturday our travel day home. See you soon!

You never know what a day in Guatemala may hold. Today it was moving objects from one storage area to another. Wasn't Jeremiah creative in his moving skills?

Don't fall Andy!
Andy and Zach fixed the roof over the newly transformed teacher's lounge. They will be so surprised on Monday when school starts!

And the kitchen renovations continue. Putting poly urethane on the doors and draws takes great skill and team work. Tonight we got high praise from the Jeffe (boss man, Mike). We were told that it was like a factory finish.

The painting crew; Jeremiah, Katie, Deb, and Josh. That is a very blue room!

After lunch fun!

Isn't Marvin a strong boy?! Just too cute.

Most evenings the older kids and Gringo's play knock out (basketball), soccer, and can jam (frisbee game) after dinner.

Jordy and Adam are "horsing" around.

We had a fire tonight to get rid of some scraps. There isn't much that isn't recycled but burning is how Guatemalans  get rid of  what they don't recycle. Some of the things they burn would make EPA cringe.

Tomorrow is our last day at the home. We will all miss the beauty of Guatemala and of course the children.

Another productive work day in Guatemala! Most of the team was working on the cabinets which includes sanding and applying polyurethane. Go girls! Landis Custom Cabinetry might have some new employees by the end of this trip.

The teacher's lounge is almost ready including termite dust removed...for now.

Adam giving some kids rides on the bulldozer, not a typical home activity for sure!

What fun making the girls beautiful. Such a sweet act of kindness.

We had an awesome time of worship with the kids before the special dinner of pizza delivered motorcycles. The purpose of the dinner was to celebrate the start of school on Monday.

There was a fire off in the distance at the base of Linda Vista which was once a squatters village and now is populated by thousands. Praying that it was a control fired to burn off vegetation, but we really don't know.

Mike and Wendy got to visit with Alejandra and her bambino, Estephan. They sponsored Alejandra when she was at the home as a young girl. So sweet to reconnect with her and spoil her baby.

We can't believe we only have 2 more work days! So much to get done!

Today was very productive! The pieces of the wall that was taken down were moved.

The cabinet crew is making progress. Many extra hands were added to the crew. We will all be experts by the end of the project, LOL!

A storage room is being transformed to a teacher's lounge. Zach and Katie made great progress today by secured the roof, painted and are hanging a drop ceiling.

A wall was removed in a building. Nails needed to be removed so the wood can be reused. There isn't much here that isn't reused in some way.

The great reward at the end of the day is time with the kids. We can't believe we only have 3 more days with them. Oh and it was a beautiful 75 degrees. Not missing the PA weather!
