Our Guatemalan adventure continues. Our flight to Miami has been delayed a number of times. Currently we are to fly out at 5:14 tonight. But this will likely mean that we will not make our connection, so there is a good likelihood that we will be spending the night in Miami. The team will have to be split on flights out tomorrow. The internet at the airport here in Guatemala is sporadic and weak so that is why team members are having a hard time connecting with family. So if you read this blog, please share with family members you know. Please pray for safe and speedy travels home!
Yesterday we wrapped up all of our jobs. Praise God for all that He helped us do this week! After a long day of work, we had a sweet time of saying goodbye to the children and staff at the home at dinner. Then we did our team wrap up which is always a wonderful time of sharing how God has worked in our lives through the week. Today we had a new adventure, we climbed Pacaya, one of three active volcanos in Guatemala. It was a hard climb and some of us choose to take horses, but the views were worth it! We roasted marshmallows on hot spots of lava. Then on to Antigua for a good dinner and good nights sleep. Please pray for our safe travels home tomorrow. Our flight is just before 2:00 from Guatemala. Gracias for your prayers!

Hello Friends and Family! The team worked hard today. Progress was made on the block wall as well as the cabinets. Late this afternoon, team members that sponsor children at the home had time to give gifts that they brought to the children. After that, we had a time of worship that was really special because some of the older sponsor children were able to stay to worship with us. It is hard to believe that tomorrow is our last day at the home! Please pray for health and a special day as the team and with everyone at the home.

Tonight much of the team is tired. It was a day of hard work in the sun for the concrete crew. The cabinet crew were busy cutting parts, assembling, sanding, and applying polyurethane. Joe started the finishing process of the concrete countertop. That was pretty cool! The team provided ice cream treats for the kids and staff. They are loving the special treats because next week they start school. After dinner this evening, some of the missionaries spent time with us explaining how they arrived at serving at NLCH, what their roles are, how things are done at the home and why. We also go to learn some of the stories of some of the children at the home. That is always a bitter sweet night; hard to hear what some of been through but awesome to see where they are now and the love they receive here at the home. Tomorrow we need to get a lot of work done. Pray for health and productivity please!

Another great day in Guatemala! Part of the team poured a concrete pad in the school. Others continued to work on cabinets for the kitchen. Kate and Deb got to go shopping at WalMart. It is an adventure to shop for the home, missionaries, and our team. Wendy Wheeler has it down to a science, but it is a fast moving day. After dinner, we had our fun time with the kids. Please pray for health and strength for the team as well as our relationships and productivity.
