It was a great last day at NLCH. Tomorrow we head to Antigua bright and early in the morning for sight seeing and shopping. We completed the kitchen by late morning. The sewing projects were completed this evening. We even got to squeeze in an extra project in; the old sand with yucky stuff in it was removed from the sandbox, new plastic laid and new sand filled in. The kids were in it by the afternoon....big kids first:)

Tonight we got to share how we saw God at work this week. He was very busy!

We may not be able to post a blog tomorrow
so the next time you may hear from us is when we are home.

Be sure to play the video at the bottom to put a smile on your face:)

Adios!

Seriously, we are working! Not that you can tell from some of the pictures. It is hard to believe tomorrow is our last day at the children's home! Friday we head to Antigua.

One of the many things we love the most about Guatemala is the awesome fruit! We try new fruit as much as we can. Today was star fruit. Yesterday was green mangos with chili, lime seasoning and nance fruit. Nance fruit we found out has wonderful health benefits. Tomorrow is guava. We will also try fried okra. We are told it is the only way to eat it.

The cabinets are nearing completion! They are all installed and get the final coat of polyurethane tomorrow as well as knobs.
Pam and Connie had a great time making Bob the Builder curtains for the little boys' house.

Mike got his daily Grapette soda from the tienda while on break. Many of us tried chili rellenos for the first time. YUM!

Tim taught the big boys to play American table football. It was a hit!

What a great day in Guatemala! The team made good progress on the cabinets and with sewing curtains. The team also got to help make a special meal of a make your own burrito bar. When we get home we can all apply for jobs at Chipotle!

helped build a couple of years ago.

Sorry there wasn't a blog post yesterday. We didn't have wifi. Yesterday was church at Frater, a large contemporary church where all of the kids and missionaries from the home attend. After church and lunch, we colored and played with the kids. Our team did an awesome job making156 egg, ham and cheese biscuits with  a side of beans, of course, for a special celebration for the start of school which was today. Some of the team members had the privilege of praying for the kids during the celebration. Today we got a lot of work done! Shopping for the home and school, painting furniture, more sewing and lots of progress on the cabinets for the big girls house. Nachos for dinner! Hasta maƱana!

Now that's a lot of eggs!

                                                                Great team work!

What a great day in Guatemala! Besides enjoying the beautiful weather and the children, we did get some work done. The kitchen that is being replaced was disassembled. A new bathroom at the school was painted. Curtains were made. Progess was made on the construction of the new cabinets.
Mucho progresso.

What a long night and day of travel! All went well though and once again, God ushered us through the airports. We had some new adventures. A luggage conveyor broke so we had to carry 75% of our luggage MUCH further, but we managed :) We also had to take buses to our plane on the tarmac in Mexico City and climb the steps like celebrities. Customs went very smoothly in Guatemala!

Then we got to the children's home, got settled, and started to work. A few from the team started pretreating wood for termites so it will be ready for the cabinets to be made.

It wasn't all travel and work. We got to spend some time with the kids before and after dinner. There are some new children that the team got to meet and ones that were thrilled to see returning team members. These kids are just amazing!
