We arrived and are beginning our first day of projects.

After an uneventful flight to Guatemala by way of Houston, we arrived in Guatemala City. Our Team split into two groups: one group (Larry, Doreen, Mike, Wendy, Tanner, Cindy, Ryan, Victoria, August, Kate and Kristen) will be serving at the Children's Home and the other group (Trent, Bobby, Chris, Gene and Katrina) will be serving with SARF.

After a brief orientation, again we split into small groups so we could enjoy dinner with the kids in their homes; older boys, younger boys, older girls, younger girls.

We also were blessed by this incredible sunset.

This morning we received our projects. On the list was painting, painting and more painting! We have six bathrooms to paint to prepare for the new school year, which starts Wednesday. A few walls in the classrooms and a few rooms in the Wheelers old home. Most of us will be working on that this week.

Mike, along with a couple helpers, will be building cabinets for the new building which will house a kitchen area and office/meeting space.
